Fried rice has been an all-time favorite Asian dish for most people because of its unique rice aroma arises during the process of stir-frying rice with other ingredients and seasonings inside the wok.

It is a quick-n-easy dish when you do not have much time to prepare a complete meal yet still desiring some hearty food.

This dish has no fix ingredients except rice & egg are the vitals; everyone can make their own version of first-class fried rice using ingredients according to their liking.

Here I would like to share one fried rice recipe, hope you will like it.

Let’s get started to make this dish!

INGREDIENTS (1 SERVING)

Overnight cooked rice

1 beaten egg

4 medium size shrimps (chunk into bite-sized pieces)

1 handful of approx. 1cm x 1cm cubed spam

1 small chalk of spring onion

Appropriate amount of white pepper & salt (for seasoning)

INSTRUCTIONS

1. First, fry cubed spam to make them slightly crispy brown on the outside.

No oil is added as it will be exerted from spam itself as along the frying process.

Set aside for later use.

2. In the same wok, heat up 1 tbsp of cooking oil and fry shrimps for about 1 min or until the flesh turns red. Set aside for later use.

*Rub shrimps beforehand with a pinch of salt to accentuate the taste.

3. In the same wok, pour in beaten egg, and then toss in overnight cooked rice

before egg solidifies.

4. Stir fry by pressing motion using a spatula to make both rice and egg

well-distributed.

5. After about 1 min, toss in spam and shrimps and continue to stir fry.

The fragrance from spam and shrimps will blend well with the rice giving it more noticeable flavor.

6. Add in spring onion & give it a good stir.

7. Sprinkle the appropriate amount of white pepper & salt for seasoning.

Make one last stir and turn off the heat. Fried rice is ready to serve!
